The Glen Cove Yacht Club's Clubhouse is destroyed in a suspicious fire, January 1981. The Club perservered through the next 2 years while a new building was funded by the City of Glen Cove to replace the historic Clubhouse, formerly a part of the New York Yacht Club on this site.
Reconstruction of the new Clubhouse carried out under the Parente Administration from Spring 1982 until 1983.
